Sutton Coldfield’s Food Banks need you!

We look forward to seeing you.

In partnership with Hope Food, and other local FoodBanks, Sutton Coldfield Town Hall is acting as a donation’s point during this time of national crisis.

Volunteers at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall will organise and distribute your donations to our FoodBanks partners locally.

The Food Bank Donation Station at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall is now being managed by local charitable organisation Hope for Food North Birmingham.

This completes a two year project launched by volunteer Terry Dockery in March 2020 in response to the pandemic. Local distributions had been closed down due to lack of volunteers, and so the Town Hall was approached for a collection centre throughout lockdown and beyond.

The project is now in a new post-pandemic phase, in which Hope Food North Birmingham will collect at the Town Hall on a Friday from 10am to 2pm. Donors can pull up on the side service road to have items received. These include long life food, toiletries and pet food.

New project leader Deb Middleton is excited to take on the project. “We are extremely grateful to Terry Dockery and Sutton Coldfield Town Hall, for running the food donation point over the last 2 years.  At Hope Food North Birmingham we have over 100 visitors through our doors on a weekly basis and the food we supply supports around 250 local people.”

Food is our biggest cost, so this weekly donation is extremely valuable to us.  We are delighted to be entering into a new partnership with the Town Hall to continue this valuable community service.  The donated food will be shared between the local food bank organisations, ensuring that collectively we support the people in our local community in need.

In the two years to March 2022, Terry Dockery’s efforts at the Town Hall amounted to just under £90,000 of food donations, serving 5 local foodbanks in Sutton Coldfield and Erdington.
