Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Hall

First completed in 1865 as a hotel for the Victorian visitors of Sutton Park arriving from the adjacent train station, the iconic Sutton Coldfield Town Hall is the most recognisable, and arguably, most loved building in The Royal Town.

The impressive Edwardian halls added in 1905 are the rooms still used today, retaining their historical versatility and continuing to serve the community. Re-focussed for the 21st Century, the venue now hosts a vast spectrum of events from a variety of special occasions through to full theatre productions.

Here at The Town Hall, we can help you to bring your wedding dreams into reality, spanning from traditional, to vintage-inspired ceremonies, a quirky theatrical experience to a modern reception. The grand and elegant interior brings classic glamour and gravitas to any style of wedding.

Four main multi-purpose rooms including an ornate ceremony room and large ballroom, complete with a sprung maple dance floor, can be tailored entirely to you and your needs. With additional dressing rooms, and exclusive full venue hire also available, Sutton Coldfield Town Hall gives you the ideal blank canvas to create your perfect day.

There is no better place with the beautiful backdrop of Sutton Park just a stone’s throw away for dramatic outdoor photos. Alternatively, the history and grandeur of our theatre ballroom and ceremonial rooms are a beautiful indoor setting.

Generations of couples have married here over the past century, from weddings of all faiths and cultures to theatrical themed celebrations, we have a tradition of care and knowledge and a creative and passionate team with a shared ambition to make every event perfect.

With our local train station on the edge of our grounds and many car parks within a minute’s walk, we can’t wait to welcome you and all of your guests.

The Crush Hall

Our Crush Hall is perfect for intimate drinks receptions, and evening entertainment. The beautiful heritage fireplace adds a stately yet welcoming ambience to the room. With original stained glass windows letting in plenty of light to the space, this romantic room is ideal for you or your loved one to walk down the aisle.

The Vesey Ballroom

The Vesey Ballroom, which also doubles as our traditional proscenium Theatre, is our most versatile room. Over the years this space has been used for entertaining First World War troops all the way through to a film set. It also has one of the largest sprung dance floors in Birmingham. Whether it’s a flair for the dramatic and you long to be married truly centre stage, or love the romance of a reception in a ballroom where couples have danced through the decades, this room is the answer to your wedding dreams.

The stage and lighting can be used for a pianist with our on-stage baby grand, a string quartet, vocalist or other entertainment, making the most of our thespian setting.

The Vesey Lounge

Our most modern space, equipped with a full licensed bar and fantastic views of Sutton Coldfield’s luscious green landscape.

With multiple folding doors opening into the Vesey Ballroom, you can use this room for your evening reception or wedding breakfast. Another large dance-floor can be revealed, with more space to party!
