Panto VIP Night: Celebrating the Past, Present and Future!

On the 12th December we were joined by stakeholders, trustees, partners, volunteers and friends who came together for a festive occasion at the Panto VIP event. This was a great opportunity to recognise all the achievements of 2024 and to thank all of those who have helped to make a difference and contributed to keeping the Town Hall heart beating.

At the Town Hall we are a team, and that team includes our community therefore, we want to thank you for your continued support whether you attended a professional or amateur production this year or perhaps you joined us on Heritage Day, a vintage fair, a conference or even celebrated your birthday with us! However, you chose to join us, we are truly thankful you did.

We were joined by Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP who shared a few words:

“ I do think in the last year, the Town Hall has made real progress and I think it’s very exciting what’s happening, a big thanks to all those who make the town hall ‘zing’ and it’s certainly zinged in 2024 and it is a tribute to all those who work so hard … I particularly wanted to come to pantomime…i’m sure it will be a brilliant Panto, it always is and I hope you all enjoy it enormously and have a very happy Christmas

Claire Bridges, Chair of Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Hall shared:

We are always welcoming new ideas and new energies … it’s been quite a year and we are glad we have been able to turn around the business model. A big thank you to Sutton Coldfield Town Council and Sutton Charities who have been there with a belief and confidence in us that we are going to achieve and have supported us substantially… so thank you very much! We’ve also had a grant for new roof space and a young community skills hub and other improvement works to the building, courtesy of Andy Street when he was mayor of West Midlands Combined Authority. I am happy to say that with the agreement in sight … the work will be happening in the new year on both the two main elements of the project… and we are really glad of it! … Looking ahead we are looking at a more diverse and creative programme of events activities, we certainly have people here tonight that represent all sorts of artistic organisations in the the Town, from local drama, to musical performance, to classical, contemporary music, to cultural activities and events and this is going to help us work in partnerships with yourselves… we want to make this the vibrant hub that is community led in the town!
